Welcome to my academic portfolio. My work in Plant Breeding & Genetics focuses on crop improvement and research that supports sustainable agriculture.

RESEARCH MOTIVATION

My efforts are focused on the improvement of crop plants by creating crop varieties that efficiently use resources and promote sustainable production practices. Objectives of my breeding programs are to develop high-yielding crop varieties with enhanced biotic and abiotic stresses. I make use of interspecific hybridization and complex crosses of elite parents to create unique populations. I then screen and select from segregating populations for yield components, biotic and abiotic stress tolerance. Besides classical breeding approach, I also prefer to use cutting edge techniques improvement of crop plants.
